The Police Women Association and the Limbe Central Police Station Gender Desk alongside Member organisations of the Limbe Gender-based Violence and Child Protection (Limbe GBV/CP) Platform are visiting schools in Limbe today March 5th 2025 to sensitise students on the legal, social and health consequences of drug abuse. Showing students samples of the trending drugs such as Tramadol, officers from the Limbe Central Police Station are using the no-nonsense talk to students to curb the ravaging effects of drug consumption in the student milieu. The officers are also tough on letting the students grasp the legal consequence of rising violence and immoral behaviour among students. Most of the students are actually learning for the first time that fighting, verbal abuse, bullying, attack on teachers, rape and other shameful sexual immorialities such as nudes and porn in phones are punishable if caught. Hard days ahead for offenders.Activities to commemorate the 2025 International Women's Day kicked off on March 4th at Central Police Station in Bota with a ceremony presided over by the Commissioner of Police, Senior Superintendent Nyebe Simon Jean Pierre. This was followed by the cleaning of the Central Police Station premises, and a visit to the Full of Grace Orphanage in Bimbia with donations of footstuffs, toiletries and other needs for the orphans.Members of the team later visited the Full of Grace Orphanage in Bimbia where they provided the orphans with gifts ranging from detergents, foodstuff to toys. Apart from students, women's associations shall also be sensitised on services of the UN-Women Gender Desk at the Central Police Station., especially with regards to protection and legal remedies against Gender-based Violence.Through the GBV sensitisation campaign, the Central Police Station and the Limbe Gender-based Violence and Child Protection (Limbe GBV/CP) Platform are also honouring the memory of recently departed Senior Assistant Superintendent Mvono Adjeme Catherine epse Ayebe who was the Manager of the UN-Women Gender Desk at the Limbe Central Police Station.
